[edit] What about the accomodation ?

Finding accommodation is one of the first steps in your ERASMUS experience. The procedure is different from one country to another.

  • In some countries, the most common option will be to have a room on campus, it's often the cheapest alternative.
  • Whereas in others, you will be offered the possibility to share a place with other people. It could be a house or an appartment, located downtown or close to the university.
  • Another option is to swap your housing thanks to CasaSwap.com

To come to a decision on this specific point "What is the best option for the country where I am going?" you should ask to people who went there before or ask to students in the host university.

  • To do so:
    • check the section "My Erasmus in ...", choose the country and city that you are interested in and see the information available.
    • If you cannot find an appropriate reply, use MyErasmus.org forum to post your question
  • If you want to go for the room on campus, then you should contact as soon as possible the campus accommodation office of your host institution about this.
  • You want to share a flat with roommates: ask at your host university if they have any special places in its website where they post accomodation ads.

For the adventurous people, book an hotel at your arrival for a few days, check out ads in the local press and visit places before deciding.
