[edit] Housing Benefit

It is possible to receive financial help on housing for longer than a 3-month stay. This particular housing benefit could cover up to 50% of your total monthly rent, it is usually around 80€ per month.

Conditions:

1. Low income from your country of origin during the year preceding your stay. 2. Receiving no government aid from your country. 3. Resident of a country which has signed an agreement with France (the majority of countries). 4. Live in the same accommodation for at least 3 months. The rental contract must be under the student’s name.

There are two sorts of housing benefits available: APL and ALS. Both are funded by the CAF (bureau of housing benefit).
