How to get to Annecy

[edit] By Plane

By Plane: the easiest is to fly to Geneva Cointrin and take the coach to Annecy. (Avoid the train between Geneva and Annecy which takes an eternity and has many changes.) There’s a shuttle from the airport (“CCF navette”) to the downtown train station Cornavin every 10 minutes for about 10 CHF. You then need to walk to the coach station; it’s all downhill and takes 10 minutes maximum, provided you have wheels on your luggage. As you come out of the Cornavin train station, follow the signs for Rue Mont Blanc. Leave Cornavin behind you and go down Rue Mont Blanc. The coach station after the post office, is on your left, just behind a small chapel. The coach schedule varies, but as a rule there are departures for Annecy at 8:30, 10:30, 13:30, 17:30 and 18:45. The ticket costs 15 CHF, but they accept euros as well (11€) and the journey takes an hour (less on Sunday, more at rush hour).
